As mentioned in the Gazette, Gram Panchayats are responsible for Operation and maintenance of Single Village Schemes (PWS Schemes), Mandal Parishads are responsible for maintenance and procurement of spare parts for Hand Pumps. Zilla Parishad is responsible for Operation and maintenance of Multi Village Schemes (CPWS Schemes). Technical Guidance for
the above schemes will be provided by RWS Department in Coordination with Panchayati Raj Institutions.
