A.P. POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD
The A.P. Pollution Control Board is a statutory organization entrusted to implement Environmental Laws and rules within the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Board was constituted as State Board for Prevention to implement the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and its subsequent amendments, Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution), Act 1981 and its subsequent amendments, implementation Bio-Medical Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, Hazardous (Management & Handling) Rules, Solid Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, Plastic waste Rules, E-waste handling Rules and C & D Rules.
The APPCB state wise presence with its Head Office at Vijayawada, 4 Zonal and 13 Regional Offices covering the entire state.
The Regional office, Vizianagaram was established in 1987 and at present it is having the jurisdiction of Vizianagaram and Alluri Seetharama Raju districts operating at Vizianagaram.

There are no 17 Category type of Industries in Alluri Seetharamaraju District like Distillery, Iron & Steel, Pharmaceuticals, Sugar etc.,
There are only 7 mining units, 2 No. of stone crushers, 1 No. of RMC plant are operating in the district.
The APPCB is proposed to install three new ambient air quality monitoring stations under the National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme (NAMP) at the Head Quarters, Paderu to assess the quality of ambient air. The operation of these monitoring stations, is crucial for the collection of baseline air quality data, which will serve a day over 9 days in a month. The Board Officials of APPCB have identified the following suitable locations in Paderu town, as per the guidelines for installation of NAMP stations.
