MGNREGS focus is not only on providing wage employment but also on creating durable assets that strengthen rural livelihoods.
Livelihood Security – To provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work.
Reduce rural distress migration by providing employment locally.
Creating Durable Assert– Develop productive assets such as Horticulture, Farm ponds, Canals, Animal Sheds, MI Tanks, Check dams, Trenches Compound walls, and support to improve rural infrastructure.
