DISTRICT MINES AND GEOLOGY

Functions/Activities of the department:

• 1. Receipt, Processing and Disposal of the mining and quarry lease applications for various minerals.

  2. Grant and Executions of the mining and quarry leases.

  3. Collection of Mineral Revenue from existing quarry leases

  4. Monitoring of mining and quarry leases under the Act and Rules.

  5. Monitoring with Revenue department to submit data related to Major Mineral Blocks identified and auctioned by the Central Government

  6. Mineral exploration and identification of deposits.

  7. Sanctioning of Bill amount to various department for works completed under District Mineral Foundation Funds

  8. Collection of Other Department amounts for various civil works completed within district from State departments and Central departments.

  9. Arresting illegal mining and quarrying and transportation of minerals and levy of penalties.

The Mining Leases:

The ASR District having 07 major mineral leases covering an extent of 20.370 Hects (i.e. 05 mica leases & 02 semi precious stones).

The Quarry Leases:

The ASR District having 21 Minor mineral leases covering an extent of 152.295 Hects (i.e. 07 colour granite, 02 laterite, 01 china clay, 03 calcite & 09 Road Metal leases)

Prospecting Leases:

In ASR District one Prospecting license for semiprecious stones issued over an extent of 37.96

The Mineral Dealer Licenses:

The ASR District having 10Mineral Dealer licenses (i.e. 04 colour granite, 02 laterite & 04 Road Metal leases).

The Quarry Lease Applications:

08 quarry lease applications for grant of road metal received and same were forwarded to concerned Tahsildar for issue of NOC.
